Akron Halloween Rant.....

Who ever heard of Trick-or-Treating a week early! Akron is having trick-or-treating on 10/25. Come on! Halloween actually falls on a Friday this year, the perfect time to have trick-or-treating. What was the city council thinking? Are they that afraid of Halloween? Halloween was one of my favorite holidays as a kid. You got to dress up in some scary costume and pretend to scare your friends and get lots of candy. And yes, you did this on the actual night (after dark), gasp, of Halloween. The fact that you did it after dark and on Halloween added to the fun and made it just a little bit scary. That was the fun of it! People these days think they have to tame everything down because the kids can't handle it or because it isn't safe. Well let me tell you something. The kids can handle it if parents would treat them like kids instead of babies. And it would be safe for them if the parents would do their jobs as parents and get of their lazy butts and walk along with their kids. OMG! Heaven forbid, I should actually put down my beer, get up from in front of the TV, get a little exercise and SPEND SOME TIME WITH MY KIDS! But no, we just dress them up and send them on their way a week early so we can watch reruns of our favorite shows and suck all the fun out of the experience for our kids! But hay, at least it is nice and safe and doesn't fall on the actual day of that horrible holiday!

GGGRRRRRRRR - I am so mad!

Ok, I am done venting now.

Have a great day.

Moving Weekend

Well... I'm tired! We got a lot done though. You see, I helped P (Pam) move furniture from her old house to her new apartment this weekend. Everything went real well, two of P's good friends A and J came over to help. Their daughter was adorable. I plan on helping P get a few more things moved this coming weekend. Which, by the way, will be the first time my boys will get to go down to her place. It is really nice, we (all 6 of us) are starting to be able to do more stuff together now. We are going down for the weekend and then coming back up on Saturday for the Cub Scout Pack meeting and Haunted Hayride. Then back down to move some more stuff on Sunday.

Work is going pretty good. I have been doing a security certificate audit. Making sure we are tracking all of our web server certs. So far so good. Work/planning for the new building keeps increasing.

Fun..... Well, there is all the time I am getting to spend with P, that is always fun! We have the Haunted Hayride coming up and a Cub scout camping trip in two weeks. I had better get started planning!

What a weekend!

What can I say..... this weekend was one to set your head spinning. It started of with me and the boys doing our typical Friday night thing, pizza and a movie night. I asked the boys again if they were sure they were ready to meet "the girls". Both reasured me that they were. Well Saturday rolls around and they go with ME to spend the evening with some frinds of theirs. I had asked Pam and the girls to come up for night since the boys were not going to be there. Once again it was a wonderfull night. I just adore Hannah and Ariel. They are so sweet and Pam is always a joy to have around. The next morning we got up and got ready to go get Ariel's pictures taken. I think everyone was a little nervous/excited/scared because we all, boys an ME included, were going to meet for lunch. Well.... as you could guess, lunch was a little intense. None of the kids said much and Pam and ME barely talked to each other. I really was not supprised though. What was amazing was the difference in the kids once ME left. As soon as she left the tension was gone and the kids were talking and laughing. The boys were talking to Pam. We went to a park and the kids were playing together like they had known each other for years. The rest of the day went so well I asked if Pam and the girls wanted to stay the night again. They did and the boys said they wanted them to stay as well. Well, everything was going great untill ME called to say good night to the boys. She thinks I am rushing things with Pam to much for the boys, so needless to say she was ticked off that the They were staying the night. TO BAD! What she doesn't seem to realize is that she is trying to portray her fears and doubts as the boys own. Are things moving quickly between Pam and I? Yes, but those two boys are my first concern. I would do nothing that I think would hurt them. And if I think the boys are not ready for what ever the next step is then I will wait until they are. I know that Pam understand that and would not be hurt if I needed to, but the boys are showing no signs of going to fast. I am so proud of them. They are far stronger than ME is giving them credit for. She is just scared, I can understand that, but it does get very frustrating.

Anyway, time to move on..... Pam, you are amazing. You are great about puting up with my baggage. I am very happy to have you and the girls in my life. You have shown me just how happy I could have have been the past few years. Thank you. I wish I had met you a couple of years ago, but I am so looking forward to our future together.

Until next time....

Well, today is a good day! I get to see Pam tonight, my boys have decided they want to meet her this weekend, and all the budget planning at work is almost over. Life is changing a lot for me, my divorce from ME (Maryellen) is progressing as quickly as my relationship with Pam. I am still working on changing my way of thinking from having to consult ME on everything to needing to consult Pam. I know I have stepped on Pam's toes a couple of times by telling her what was going to happen instead of asking her opinion before making a decision. I have to get better about that. It is a little tough because ME and I are trying to figure out how we are going to work around, divide or eliminate our old "traditions" when it comes to the boys. Old habits die hard, but Pam is worth it. She is the most amazing woman, sweet, smart, funny, beautiful, sexy, I could go on and on.

Well, I have to get back to work. I'll write more later.
